LAYOK

A shape-shifter locked halfway — can only shift into versions of themselves (younger, older, different emotional states). Can't become anyone else. Stuck with themselves in every form. ORIGIN CULTURE: Indigenous / Native American — trickster archetype, Coyote lineage

KAYOL

ADAEZE (ah-DAH-zeh)

A teenage girl whose shadow is always three seconds behind her — the shadow is the part of her that already knows what she'll do. When they sync up, she's at full power. ORIGIN CULTURE: African / Afro-diasporic — Igbo tradition, chi (personal spirit)

KAI

Kai is the thoughtful and observant leader of the Turtle Trackers. With his sharp mind and a knack for asking just the right questions, Kai guides his friends through every challenge. He's a bright, energetic young boy with a keen sense of curiosity, often seen in his sleek, nature-inspired tech-wear.

SQUIRT

Kai's best friend and companion is Squirt, a super-smart, high-tech turtle whose shell doubles as a bioluminescent, multi-terrain vehicle. Squirt isn't just a pet; he's the team's navigator, equipped with advanced sensors and a jet-pack that helps the Trackers reach any corner of their natural world. Together, Kai and Squirt embody the spirit of thoughtful exploration and unwavering friendship.

LENA

Lena is the compassionate heart of the group, a youg girl with a gentle spirit and an incredible ability to connect with animals. Her mixed heritage shines through in her unique perspective, making her a natural empath who understands the subtle cues of the wild. Lena's style is vibrant and expressive, with modern braids and functional, stylish outdoor gear.

PIP

Her partner is Pip, a quick-witted and agile rabbit with a secret weapon: sonic-enhanced ears. Pip's ears aren't just for hearing; they're equipped with bioluminescent tech that can amplify the faintest whispers of the forest, helping the team understand animal communications and detect hidden dangers. Lena and Pip teach us the power of listening—both to nature and to each other.

TEZCA

A living obsidian mirror shard that took the shape of a child. Not fully solid, not fully smoke. Somewhere between. ORIGIN CULTURE: Latin American / Aztec — specifically Tezcatlipoca mythology, the god of night sky, memory, and conflict WORLD: "The Smoking Mirror"

Pip — The Last Seed of the Wollemi Pine

: A living seed. The very last remaining seed of the Wollemi Pine — a tree species scientists believed extinct for 90 million years until 17 living specimens were discovered in a hidden canyon in Australia in 1991. Pip is not from those specimens. Pip is from a tree that grew somewhere older, somewhere that was never found. Pip is the last seed of the truly original line. He is aware of this. He is also very small. These two facts are in constant conversation with each other. THE IRON-HEARTED SENTINEL, a colossal, stone-skinned guardian whose form is as ancient and unyielding as the mountains themselves. For eons, he has stood watch, an immovable bulwark against forces that would unravel the very fabric of existence. He is not merely a creature; he is a living fortress, a silent protector whose legend is whispered in the deepest caverns and across the highest peaks.

KRANOS

Ancient brain jellyfish. Nobody knows exactly how old. He stopped counting and then stopped remembering. He has known about the alien civilization his entire life. Encountered them once, long ago, deeper than he should have gone and saw something else besides them that keeps him from that depth. Made a choice not to go back — not out of fear but because he understood he wasn't the right messenger. He was waiting for someone still becoming who they were. He recognized Blu immediately.

CHICO CALIENTE

The soul of Huitzilopochtli — Aztec god of war and the sun — trapped by divine tribunal in a Xoloitzcuintli-mix street dog after being found guilty of catastrophic overconfidence. He must complete 10 acts of true humility to regain his form. He completes approximately 0.3 acts per episode. He is three pounds of divine ego in a nine-pound body. His best friend Lupita, age 8, does not believe a single thing he says about being a god. He cannot read. The Aztec codices he was the god of cannot be accessed by his tiny dog eyes. This is a humiliation that cuts deep.
